The truck also added the Duramax® 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine as an option for 2020. Both quiet and strong, this engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and reaches 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

You can even lock or unlock your doors as well as stop or start your engine with the app.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Spotlight
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 brings with it lots of new changes, after a year of big changes for the new-generation 2019 model. Changes include new engines and new technologies.
For starters, the 6.2-liter V8 engine, good for 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, will be available on more Silverado models in 2020: Custom Trail Boss, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country. On the Silverado RST model, this engine is equipped with four-wheel drive, improving towing capacity to 13,400 pounds—a best-in-class rating.
Drivers can add a Performance Upgrade Package to the 6.2-liter V8 engine, which ups horsepower to 435 hp and torque to 469 lb-ft.
Perhaps even more exciting is the new addition to the engine lineup. For the first time, the Silverado 1500 will be available with a 3.0-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel engine. Drivers can get this engine on 2020 Silverado 1500 LT, RST, LTZ, and High Country models. This engine crushes the competition (looking at you, Ford and Ram) with best-in-class diesel horsepower (277 horsepower) and torque (460 lb-ft).
Another engine update: The 5.3-liter V8 engine with Dynamic Fuel Management can now be linked with the 10-speed automatic transmission. This pairing is standard on the LT Trail Boss trim and is optional on the High Country.
Chevy has added several new technologies for the 2020 Silverado 1500; of particular interest are several towing features that were previously only offered on Silverado HD models. For 2020, the Silverado 1500 has a class-leading available 15 unique camera views for easier trailering. For smarter towing, the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 is also now available with the iN∙Command® Control System from ASA Electronics via the myChevrolet mobile app, which is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
For 2020, the Silverado 1500 is also available with Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera for the first time.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Capabilities
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has always been an exceptionally capable pickup, but the new 2020 Silverado is the best iteration yet. With the innovative Durabed, revamped towing capabilities, and a unique Drive Mode Selector, the 2020 Silverado 1500 is loaded with all the tools you need.
Durabed
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has an available maximum payload of 2,250 pounds within its new Durabed. The new Silverado’s standard bed is not only longer and wider than any other bed in its class, but it also offers 20 percent more cargo space than its competitors. The high-strength bed is fabricated using steel, and includes 12 standard 500-pound capacity tie-downs to keep your cargo firmly in place. The Silverado’s Durabed is smarter than ever thanks to its available industry-first power up/down tailgate. Available lighting, CornerStep foot holds, and outlets make the 2020 Silverado 1500’s bed an asset on the jobsite.
Towing
When it comes to towing, the 2020 Silverado 1500’s V8 EcoTec3 6.2-liter engine delivers an incredible max hauling capacity of 13,400 pounds.* As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the 2020 Silverado features several all-new towing technologies. The Silverado offers up to 15 available camera views to give you more visibility during hitch connection, parking, and driving, including a transparent trailer view that lets you see through your trailer. The new Advanced Trailering System lets you check your trailer’s tire pressure, ensure lights are working properly, and provides a pre-departure check list.
Drive Mode Selector
No matter what kind of terrain you encounter in your truck, the 2020 Silverado 1500 is capable of handling the drive. The available Drive Mode Selector lets you use a simple dial to easily fine-tune your Silverado’s performance depending on the road conditions. In wintry conditions, turn the dial to “snow/ice” for additional traction, or use “tow/haul” mode when trailering. Other available drive modes include normal, off-road, sport, and terrain.
